Breast engorgement– what is it and what can you do?
Breast fullness, also known as engorgement, may occur when your milk “comes in”, usually 2–4 days after birth. Here you can find advice on how to reduce breast engorgement and ease any associated discomfort.

Your nipple may become flattened if your breast is very full or engorged. In this case, using reverse pressure softening (RPS), gently applying pressure around the base of the nipple, and stimulating the breast by hand before feeding can help the nipple protrude.
